About

I have been based for 7 years in a small village in the Lot, south of Cahors, and have set up my workshop in the old stable under our stone-built house which dates from 1811, half embedded in the rock. This calm place, conducive to imagination, inspires my creative appetite, and allows me today, at 60 years old, to explore and experiment with materials with voracious creativity.

Drawn towards the arts from age 15 onwards in Belgium in Tournai, I continued my training in advertising in Roubaix before joining Ensci Les Ateliers in Paris where I graduated with a master’s degree in industrial design.

These 11 years of training were followed by 32 years of professional experience. 4 years, first of all, as a product designer in an agency and in a company, then 28 years teaching Applied Arts where I cultivated the Ensci adage of “everything is possible” by constantly learning and broadening my skills. It is on this foundation that I began my new life.

Teaching and the many projects that I initiated with my peers (Hélène Chappée, Brice Lalart and Olivier Boutet), brought me closer to / various materials and the intelligence of the hand. Initially trained in volume, modeling and molding, I naturally began working with clay. My fascination for the transformation of materials through the action of heat and fire led me to extend my exploration to glass and bronze.

I have always believed in humanity and its creative force and after spending this large part of my life promoting these values through teaching, I then decided to retrain in order to communicate them differently: through my pieces.

My subjects illustrate the humanity I believe in, that of joy, shared pleasure and new encounters. They combat gloom, individualism and fear of the Other.

Each material behaves differently when worked and offers a result that is unique to it. I like to think and work on my subjects by combining materials to enrich them with effects that a single material could not give them.

It is this idea of pluralism and humanity that guides me throughout my work.
